So I was going to upgrade my PC, and eventually get a new laptop,... but...rather than do both I figured i'd save time and money and just get a killer laptop, future-proof what I need, and will need, and make it so I can just connect it to any TV or Monitor in the house. What to do, what to say?

Well unless someone has some web design skillz they can recommend, I'm currently working on revamping spudmunkey.com. "What?! Again?! Why?!" Glad you asked ;)

This will be the 5th? 6th revision? Anyways the reason is I'd like to shift gears to a more consistent format and style and I need a site that reflects that change. I'm looking to go a more girlswithslingshots.com or Pvponline.com format as far as strips go and site layout.

I just need something a lil easier to work with but most importantly, update on a regular basis.

Plus I have Pittsburgh Comicon and MegaCon next year, so I need to get my ass in gear for that, redoing the site usually helps stoke the fires!

We'll see how it turns out!

Where have I been you ask? New job, getting settled in, and adjusted and not drawing as much as I used to. Napkins and Ihop placemats arent cutting it, especially with MegaCaon and Pittsburgh Con looming in the next 5 months. Back to the drawing board indeed!

Well looks like I may be taking a small redirection on Spudmunkey. Tentatively, or at least as long as i feel like it, Im going to focus on the antics of my favorite lil condiments,Ketchup and Mustard. Not for lack of love for my other characters, just as an attempt to get outta this artistic rut!

Oh and as long as my current occupation holds out, Pittsburgh Comicon is a GO!!!

So I've been away for awhile. Was it the move? Work? Burnt out? All off the above? I don't know, but what I do know is I'm going to really be trying to put my best foot forward and get back on the horse.

Come september the Pittsburgh Comic Convention is kicking in again and my good compadre Chris Brown has reserved our table for the festivites (of which I hear Stan Lee will be there for!). So yes, I'm gonna have to kick it in gear if I want to have anything to show for it.

Well, I've redesigned PortCity Underground yet again. Call it a change of pace, I just need something to get my creative juices flowing, as Spudmunkey has been quiet as of late. Aside from the occasional IHOP placement, i've been at a creative wall so it's nice to create something, even if it's just a new layout. So with this version 3.0 i've decided to refocus the entire site and streamline it. I found the previous incarnation was a little to, what's the word?...scrolly? So the Comicon has been moved to later in the year! This is good news for us here at Spudmunkey and PCU, as my upcoming nuptuals would have landed too close to make the April show. Now that it's in September that means a good chance for our 3rd year at the con to be a reality.

Just because we've relocated things to Florida, doesn't mean we forget our roots!

Well it's finally here...COMIC CON TIME. I know I haven't been around much, but I've been real busy with the whole comic con prep and getting ready to move.

Yep you heard me MOVE. Heading down to Saint Petersburg Florida for a bit of a life change. Hopefully all the sun and better climate will help spark some more creativity, as well as possible have a more supportive art community, because truth be told, Erie doesn't.

Back to the Comic Con! So yeah I'll be there, the table is listed un Stephen Wittmaak(me, duh) but when you see it I have it as PCU, PortCity Underground. I'll have some new prints and buttons, as well as a slew of stuff from last year.

So if you're coming to the Pittsburgh Comicon this weekend, April 25th-27th, check us out at the Port City Underground Table S104. Ill be there with Farman Wolper, and upcoming comic writer Chris Brown!

So today I went to Chick-fil-a, or however the hell you spell it, for lunch and noticed something. To most people any nametag, from wherever you work, especially if its NOT where you are, means you must work there.

My nametag is all black, with a big red check mark on it(pretty easy to discern where I work since the name of the company is on it as well). Apparently add a tie and dress shirt to that and I become a chick-fil-a employee when an "tenured adult" asked me where we keep the sweet and sour sauce is kept or if "we" carried any at all. Which I told her we don't have any out in the lobby and to ask a cashier for some, which she did and got her beloved condiments.

I guess what I'm putting out there is either most people just aren't aware of there surroundings, or too selfish to care.

Throw on a nametag, tie, and button down and try it out, I bet I'm right...

It's Been Awhile...

Well what's been going on?! Not a whole hell of alot apparently!!! To be honest I've been trying to regain that creative fire I lost last October when all my work from the last 5 years shit the bed in my hard drive crash. I've been dabbling with a few different things, such as the Lil Spudmunkey Steve shown here made from a Kid Robot "Munny" customizable vinyl blank. All in all I think he turned out pretty damn skippy! I've also been slowly getting started with my shit for the Pittsburgh Comic Con at the end of April. I'll definitely have a few prints, some buttons, and a sketchbook together for the event.

So far I think we'll be in a prime location, table S104, so look for us.

More as it hits!

PCU: Grand Reopening!

Well, where have I been, what have I been doing? Well for the most part I've been redesigning not only the previously mentioned Spudmunkey Dot Com, but also finishing taking over the reigns of Port City Underground. I finally reached the final stages of my little projects, and have two fresh new looks for two different sites to show for it! One, Spudmunkey.com, will continue to be my outlet for webcomics as usual, the second, Portcityunderground.net, will be geared towards more of a bio/resume/portfolio site for myself, with a smattering of things for others, such as an Artist Focus. I need to tweak the lil things in the archives and finish up the cast section, and then i'll be ready to roll on another Port City revamp, a more final one! Finally getting a chance to start drawing again, albeit slowly, after a couple month vacation/haitus from the website and comic strip. I keep redesigning Port City, but I'm still not happy with it, or Spudmunkey's look, meh, I just don't have the web "skillz" or design chops to put it together the way i want. Anyone out there good with that kinda stuff? Please lemme know, I really want to redesign Spudmunkey before the Pittsburgh Con, and anyone with PHP know how would be awesome!

Well here it is, Port City Underground, back up and running by the team that brought you Spudmunkey Dot Com! Okay so mebbe not the "team", since it's just me, and if you don't read Spudmunkey then have no fear, for I have whored it out via all over the main page.

Why the move? Well for me I feel like I was focusing too much on using Spudmunkey as the be all, end all that defines me as an artist, where it's really just a project I currently work on, albeit for years. So rather than pigeon-hole myself, i figured this was a good place to start, that and I can redesign Spudmunkey yet again, but take out all the non-munkey related stuff, and move it here.

So bear with me while I get everything up and running here in Port City. Eventually it'll have everything in one spot, ie: Blog, My Portfolio, MySpace, and a lil shop for me to peddle my crap to ya.
